            Abstract :
The Year 2000 (Y2K) plague is not limited to computer programs used to keep the company books or facilitate the company payroll. Anywhere there is a microprocessor, there is the possibility of a Y2K disaster waiting to happen. Here, the author describes how the communications department of a local electric utility is just as susceptible as the accounting department, with a possible consequence at least as severe
