Abstract :
A new methodology for modeling and characterization of in-home electric loads is developed based on their harmonics series composition. Two main modules compose this framework: the characterization of one isolated load and the study of different loads connected at the same time. For the characterization of one simple load empiric data from real time impedance was analyzed. The study of two loads connected at the same time was used as a validation test. For both stages typical in-home appliances were selected. The conducted work aims to be a useful tool for improving flexibility and hence allow demand response programs. The quality of this framework is illustrated with a case study concerning a real database of a typical American house.
