In this paper, Mesoporous silica gel (SG) and SBA-15 modified with methyl-diethyl-amine (MDEA) were prepared and used to removal H2S from the model gas with 200ppmv H2S. The adsorbents were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and N2 adsorption/desorption. The characterization results showed that the loaded MDEA could not change the structure of the adsorbents. The removal performance of H2S on the adsorbents was conducted in a dynamic setup. Effect of different adsorbent and effect of adsorption temperature on removal performance of H2S were studied respectively. Adsorbents after modifying with MDEA showed better removal H2S performance than before modifying with MDEA. Variation of temperature would have minor affection. The results indicated that the MDEA modified adsorbents were novel for removing H2S.
