Animal husbandry always accumulates a large number of excrement that cause the serious air pollution problems if there were no effective air pollution prevention or controlling equipments. The odor was one of the serious problems of animal husbandry farms; it would influence the air quality in the surrounding residential area. There were 698 animal farms around the Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park (PABP) and the poultry farms have the highest number with the proportion of 52%. The animal farm with the most livestock number was 3.8 millions chickens in the farm, and pig number was around 400,000. In order to resolve these problems, this research investigated livestock farms surround the PABP where located in southern Taiwan and a total of 18 farms odor concentration were collected. The dimensionless odor concentration was 30 ~ 208 in comparison with current maximum limitation standard of 100 at the boundary of livestock farms. This research also used the ISCST3 (Industrial Source Complex Short Term 3) air quality management program to simulate the distribution of odor concentration. The simulation results suggested that if the maximum limitation standard was set at 100 or 50 of odor emission standard at livestock farms boundary that it would reduce the odor concentration influence to the surrounding area by 35% and 67% respectively.
