Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks could be applied in surveillance of military, industry, and so on. Sensing data could be integrated into complete environmental information by wireless communication. The problems usually address on networking topology and energy consumption. Deployment is an emergent issue that it discusses how to cover maximum sensing area by limited nodes. Recently, some research centers develop mobile nodes and increase the convenience of deployment. In this paper, we assume that the map, obstacles, pre-deployed nodes are well-known. Without changing the previous distribution of nodes, we discuss how to raise coverage and uniformity rapidly by placing a mobile node into the monitored environment. By using a novel algorithm named "grid method", the map is divided into many individual grids and the weighting value of each grid is determined by environmental factors such as pre-deployed nodes, boundary, and obstacles. The grid with minimum values is the goal of the mobile node
