The vertical migration and distribution of Cu in a suburb soil profiles near Nanchang was investigated. Two-meter soil profile was sectioned horizontally at 20 cm intervals in the device. The vertical hydraulic diffusion was studied that the rate of water content at different sampling time changed from 8.54% to 27.02%.The migration rate of heavy metals in the soil profiles was described according to their relative concentrations in the profiles. The enrichment of heavy metals appeared in the uppermost layer of the soil, and the soil heavy metal concentrations decreased down the profile. The configuration of Cu was also studied that in the first 100h-150h the concentration of exchangeable Cu (available Cu) was similar with the total Cu. Subsequently, the concentrations of total Cu became higher than the exchangeable Cu (available Cu).
