Abstract :
In this paper we consider some classes of discrete- continuous 2-D models in order to build a finite dimensional linear state space model of a gas distribution network. The models introduced are shown to be suitable for handling problems of optimal control of pressure and flow in gas transport units. The focus is on the development of a comprehensive optimization theory based on a ´constructive approach´. Moreover, an optimal feedback control problem is considered that is of interest in both systems theory and application.
