  • Abstract
It is with much sorrow that we announce that Prof. Jennifer Hou passed away this past December. Together we mourn the passing of a wonderful woman and, as members of the INFOCOM Community, extend our sympathy to her family, friends, and colleagues. Jennifer was recently elected IEEE Fellow for 2008 for her "contributions to protocol design and analysis of wireless communications networks." At Jennifer\´s request, her 12-year old son is being presented with her Fellow??s Certificate during this Conference. This IEEE INFOCOM 2008 Proceedings is dedicated to Jennifer Hou. Dr. Jennifer C. Hou, a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, passed away on Sunday December 2 2007 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 43. Prof. Hou was a very active member and a great researcher of the networking community. She served as Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, and ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, and contributed to many IEEE ComSoc activities, including serving as the Technical Program Co-Chair for IEEE INFOCOM 2008.
