Abstract :
A research project at the CSIRO Australia is addressing the issue of integrating part and assembly planning with a view to developing a software which will help to reduce the process planning times in the manufacture of products, and develop corporate memory of know-how. The research effort is focused on part attributes for manufacture and assembly, the generic tasks involved, their precedent, the equipment requirements, and the time and cost analyses. This paper presents the status of this development
