Abstract :
New procedure production and delivery systems are outlined which are needed to supply enough high-quality procedures to avert human performance errors in nuclear power plants. These new systems integrate writers, reviewers, and users into the production and delivery processes with a network of easy-to-use computers. The new systems combine selected capabilities from advanced word processing, desktop publishing, and database software to produce procedures that are correct, complete, consistent, clear, and concise. It is concluded that prototypes are available for each of the production system capabilities described. Currently no single system incorporates all of these capabilities. However, as computers and software become more powerful, integrating all of these capabilities into a single system will be practical
