  • Abstract
    Unbalancing in rotating machinery e.g. electric fans causes vibration which normally appeals as noise. It reduces the life of shaft bearings. A dynamic balancing machine is used to measure unbalance so that we can remove it and reduce the vibration caused by unbalancing. Traditional measurement system of dynamic balancing machine is very often in bad results as its low measure accuracy, long measurement time, or short range of measurement. To remove above disadvantages, this paper is to present a novel design of electric measurement system for dynamic balancing machine using software band-pass filter to smoothen the sampled signal. This new design is employing upper computer and lower Single Chip Microcomputer to improve performance and extend measuring function, applying software FFT and error compensation to improve measure accuracy. In experiments, under on site test this design showed that it has most advantages in comparison of traditional measurement system.
