Abstract
In the present paper, a new point of 3D shape blending is discussed by considering the blending of smooth surfaces and rough surfaces. A unified model for approximating smooth or rough surfaces defined in the triangular field is first introduced, the model is chosen as the intrinsic feature of surfaces, an interpolation algorithm based on this model is then presented, and the simulation results show that the blending sequence is natural and satisfactory.
