Abstract :
A vehicle model integrating different factors which affect vehicle dynamics is needed for the design of advanced vehicle safety control systems. In this paper, we first present a design architecture for the modeling of vehicle dynamics, which can adopt different tire friction models. Then, we combine a tow-track chassis model, an aerodynamic model and LuGre based 2D tire model to get a new vehicle dynamic model for 4WS vehicles, which can be used for vehicle simulation and design for advanced vehicle control system
