Abstract :
Through a series of 6 studies, performance metrics of a CZT photon detector were experimentally measured as a function of electrode feature dimensions, viz. cathode strip width and pitch, and steering electrode width and bias potential. Along with 1 mm pitch anode strips, results indicate that a 5 mm cathode width and pitch, 400 μm steering electrode width, and -100 V steering electrode bias would best enhance detector performance.
