Abstract
A computer simulation tool for studying the performance of a digital cordless telecommunication system conforming to the DECT standard has been developed. The impact of base stations configuration, input traffic patterns and handsets mobility on both the capacity and the underlying network is investigated. For the last purpose, the traffic generated by base stations is modelled, outlining signalling traffic which is due mainly to handover procedures
