After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.

Along with economic development in Tianjin, the quantity of solid waste generated has increased rapidly. Solid waste management offers opportunities to improve profits by conserving resources and improving environmental performance. The present study introduces Tianjin´s urban solid waste management in detail with regard to the legislative framework, waste characteristics and treatment methods. Two waste categories: municipal solid waste and hospital waste are involved. Currently, the total quantity of municipal solid waste collected and transported was 909160 tons, and the amount of hospital waste is 5054 tons. Landfill is the main disposal approach; with the complement of incineration. The major problems faced at the main districts in the Tianjin Municipality will also be analyzed. Our analysis explains the future challenges and opportunities for improving the solid waste management system..
