Coal gangue is one of the largest industrial solid waste in the amount of emissions and accumulation. Its quantity is big and processed difficulty. Not only take up a lot of land, but also pollute of air, water and soil, destroy the environment, and even endanger to human health. This article elaborated the chemical composition of coal gangue and environmental hazards, and discussed the comprehensive utilization of coal gangue in aspect of power generation, building materials, chemicals. So as to achieve recycling waste and protecting environment, realize the sustainable development. It is also the effective measures to build a resource-saving and environment-friendly society.
