Abstract
In this paper, FCC and CISPR EMC requirements for line-conducted emissions from 450 kHz/150 kHz to 30 MHz are presented. However, radiated emissions from 30 MHz to 1 GHz (CISPR) and above (FCC) must be tested in an open area test site (OATS) which is expensive for small and medium companies. This paper introduces a current measurement method to predict the radiated emissions from external cables of EUT. This will help the manufacturer preliminary evaluate the radiated emission levels of digital devices from 30 MHz to 1 GHz. To facilitate the testing, an automated system is developed to fulfil the compliance conducted emission testing on power cable and preliminary radiated emission testing on signal/control cables using cable current measurement method
