  • Abstract
This paper aims at deriving the maximum power output from the photovoltaic (PV) panel by using a maximum power point tracking (MPPT). A fuzzy PI controller is designed to control the DC-DC converter. A novel method of MPPT is used wherein the maximum power point is initially bracketed using optimizing methods. The advantage here is that the complexity of search algorithm is reduced by bracketing the MPP and not checking voltage/current levels at each iteration. The fuzzy controller then tracks the MPP accurately. The working of this system is checked for various atmospheric conditions from the simulation results.
