Abstract
A formal product development framework helped in the transfer of technology. There are two problems in the product development process. Firstly, the management of creativity and secondly, the project management problem. The creative process may be facilitated by a systemic framework. A structured framework facilitates the retention of organizational learning. Efficiency in development is enhanced by systematic review of effort at defined milestones. This framework must be geared towards a vision to acquired development capability to further the purpose of the organization. This paper reports the success of one company´s effort to acquire development capability and effect the process of technology transfer
