A systematic research was carried out on the fecundity and reproductive allocation of H. ammodendron population in different habitat conditions of Gurbantunggut Desert. The results suggested: (1) there were two peaks of the net reproductive rate (Ro) and the gross reproductive rate (G) existed in different habitats. The average generation cycle of H. ammodendron population (T) was 8.55 and the doubling time (t) was 0.79. (2)The allocation proportions of reproductive modules of H. ammodendron population at different development stages were no more than 1%, and reached the maximum value in diameter class 9 and then decreased. (3) The reproductive allocation value in different ecotypes increased with the increase of diameter class in a parabola pattern, and the proportion of reproductive organs (flower and fruit) was the largest in the saline soil ecotype, while it was the smallest in the sand ecotype.
