This paper is concerned with the problem of active robust vibration control for uncertain structural systems with earthquake excitation. Firstly, by choosing a suitable Lyapunov function, we derive the LMI-based sufficient condition for the stabilization of the structural systems. Secondly, by solving the LMI, the robust controller is derived for the system to be stabilizable. Finally, a four-degree-of freedom building model subject to seismic excitation is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.
