Abstract :
In this paper, concerning the fast single bunch transverse instability, it is believed that the elimination of the Landau damping is the cause of this type of instability different from the mode-coupling theory. An analytical expression for the threshold current is established. For a storage ring collider, it is analytically proved that there exists a maximum beam-beam tune shift ξy,max. The analytical expression of ξy,max is established
