Title :
Saturation of the ion transverse instability
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The fast ion instability is studied in the nonlinear regime. It is shown that exponential growth of the linear regime is replaced in this case by the linear dependence on time. Numerical and analytical results are presented describing the beam profile and the beam spectrum in both regimes
