Abstract
Summary form only given. The output power of single mode FP laser diodes cannot fulfill the demand of the spectroscopic community, which is looking for stable, compact and efficient replacements of the existing tunable sources. Using the injection-locking technique with a low power coherent master laser and a broad-area high power slave laser, we are able to offer a general approach, studied here in the visible spectral range. In this paper, we report on single-mode operation with up to 200 mW single-mode output power, tunable from 682 to 688 nm and a mode-hop free tuning range of 16 GHz, adapted to the needs of an atomic physics experiment.
