A concept model of "pressure-state-response" was introduced in this study. Based on the ecological environment and the economic society, an index system of regional ecological security for Songyuan first time has been established. The conditions, level of ecological security and the main causes were analyzed, which provided technical support for the regional ecological security and national environmental protection model city. A layer analysis method was employed for determination of the index weight, and a comprehensive index method was applied for evaluating the ecological security of Songyuan. The research results showed that the index system of ecological security and evaluation standard were made up of 25 indexes, and the ecological security was in general level. Finally, the strategies and trends of ecological security in Songyuan were proposed based on the analytical results.
