Abstract :
Introduces a recognition method for electronic element symbols based on a decision tree, which has been used in the automatic input system developed by us for electronic circuit diagrams. The features of element symbols are extracted directly from the rectangular raster. We propose a feature extraction method projecting on four side-bands. It plays an important role in the whole decision process. This “decision tree” has obvious advantages, such as high speed, less memory and easy realization on a microcomputer
