Abstract :
In this paper new approach to the spatial anisotropy analysis of piezo-, elasto- and acousto- optical effects on the basis of indicative surfaces for different components of tensor describing these effects has been proposed and the optimization technique for such interactions of light with mechanical field or acoustical wave in the anisotropic materials has been designed. Piezo- and elasto-optical effects as well as figure of merit were spatially analyzed basing on indicative surfaces construction for example of widely used pure and MgO-doped lithium niobate crystals. The obtained results provide the efficiency increasing of acousto-optical cells based on these crystals.
