Abstract :
Salt River Project (SRP) in collaboration with a local homebuilder, C. Curtis Construction, dba Calex Homes, initiated a project to characterize the performance of photovoltaic systems in new home construction. Five PV power systems, each from a different manufacturer, ranging in size from 0.7 to 1.4 kW AC, were installed in a roof-mounted, grid-connected configuration on single-family model homes in the homebuilder´s development in Queen Creek, Arizona. This paper provides an overview of the performance and operation of these systems for the period of November 2001 through March 2002.
