Abstract
Summary form only given. We derive solutions to the coupled equations governing slowly varying envelopes of the pump and third harmonic (TH) pulses in a hollow fiber with allowance for self- and cross-phase modulation (XPM) and waveguide dispersion and demonstrate that SPM and XPM have a considerable influence on frequency conversion efficiency in gas-filled hollow fibers. We will demonstrate that, varying the amplitude of the fundamental pulse, one can control the chirp of optical harmonics emerging from a hollow fiber.
