Abstract
A vectorial filter is applied to AIRSAR polarimetric radar images to reduce the fluctuations of the data due to speckle. The single frequency and multifrequency classifications of raw data and filtered data are compared in terms of classification accuracy and the best selection of filter parameters (choice of elements of the observation vector to be filtered and running window size) are determined
