Abstract :
A new approach to ORPF (optimal reactive power Flow) based on NPSO-LRS (new particle swarm optimization, local random search) algorithm is proposed, and LRS subroutine is invoked using probability invoking strategy in this paper. The algorithm approaches and methods for solving ORPF problem are given. By applying the algorithm to dealing with IEEE 30-bus system, compared with the PSO algorithm and SGA (simple genetic algorithm), the experimental results show that the algorithm is indeed capable of obtaining higher quality solutions efficiently in ORPF and the convergence performance is better.
