Abstract :
This paper presents a novel algorithm for medical image fusion, using a shift-invariant multiscale decomposition scheme. The decomposition scheme is obtained by discarding the downsampling operators of a morphological wavelet. An experiment based on real medical images shows that the proposed method improves the quality of the fused image significantly.
