Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a real-time simulator of power electronic converters using dual-step approach and FPGA technology. The dual-step simulation method is explained and applied to the simulation of power systems containing power converters. A simple demonstration system consisting of a PWM inverter connected to the network is implemented using a Virtex II Pro FPGA. Simulation results are presented and discussed
