Abstract :
The machining precision and surface quality of high-speed wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM-HS) have been unable to meet the requirements of growing mold industry and precision parts machining. Since the successful development of WEDM technology in the late 1950s, there is quite a long time to implement one-time cutting and forming based on fine-gauge Electricity parameters, but it is very difficult to obtain high cutting speed and perfect surface quality at the same time in onetime cutting. The multi-cutting is the effective method to solve the contradiction between the cutting speed and surface quality, and obtain the higher processing effects. In this paper, the conditions, process parameter settings and processing effects of multi-cutting HS-WEDM are introduced from how to stabilize the Variations of form and position of the wire electrode, the wire-cutting ways of wire electrode, as well as the high-frequency pulse power supply and tracking control, it provides sufficient basis for further improving the multi-cutting WEDM-HS technology.
