Abstract :
Describes two airborne waveform-sampling lidar systems. In one lidar configuration, the lidar used two laser transmitters that had different wavelengths and temporal pulse-width characteristics. Both transmitters shared the same lidar-receiver and data acquisition system. This lidar was used to perform an experiment over the ocean. The other lidar used only one lidar transmitter to perform experiments over terrain. The data acquisition system collected both the laser-pulse timing and laser-pulse waveforms. This paper describes the lidar and the data acquisition systems. The results from the experiments were analyzed and discussed
