Abstract
Gives an overview of how simulation modeling techniques can be employed in the design and analysis of advanced manufacturing systems. The reasons for the complexities of these systems, as well as the uses of simulation software packages, are discussed. Finally, examples of simulation models of advanced manufacturing systems, as developed by the authors, are presented.
