Abstract :
In this paper we introduce three new types of self-assembled (SA) monolayer films of organic thiourea system based on substituted phenylthioureas: p-methylphenylthiourea (C8H10N 2S), p-chlorophenylthiourea (C7H7ClN 2S) and 2,4,6-tribromophenylthiourea (C7H5 Br3N2S). We focus on the synthesis of organic thiourea and the preparation of these three films by chemisorption from solution onto the Au(111) surface. In addition, we discuss the order-orientated property of SA films and several molecular film analyses using CA, IR, SEM, XPS, and AFM
