Abstract :
Summary form only given. Photonic crystals (PC) are artificial structures with a periodic dielectric function. In contrast with previous studies, we focus on the possibilities offered by a photonic crystal of /spl chi//sup (2)/. Such a structure presents a space-independent linear dielectric constant, but has a periodic second order nonlinear coefficient.
