  • Abstract
    OMAP3530 is a MPSoC device which integrates ARM Cortex-A8, TMS320C64x+, 2D/3D accelerator, display processor and various peripherals, it´s designed to meet mobile multimedia applications in which DCT algorithm plays a key role. In this paper, the OMAP3530 architecture, hardware design, DCT algorithm and DSP/BIOS Bridge principals are presented. And DCT algorithm is implemented in C language on different processors and in assembly language through DSP/BIOS Bridge on OMAP3530 platform. Then the algorithm quality and time efficiency are evaluated. The results indicate that OMAP3530 is an ideal platform for multimedia applications.
