Abstract :
This paper considers the positive real controller design for strictly positive real plants subject to a general H∞ norm performance bound. This problem is shown to be equivalent to a pair of small gain problems. A sufficient condition for their solutions is a standard H∞ small gain problem which can be readily solved. This procedure has been applied to the control of an experimental rotating flexible beam with good results.
