Abstract :
The no demounting reverse engineering of assembles was studied for engineering application. A new reverse engineering method for revolutionary assembles based on ICT image was proposed. The symmetric plane section image of assembles was gained by ICT. The edge of the image was extracted by different methods, and comparison was made for these methods. The 2D sketch was built on edge image. The pixel number corresponding to the dimension of each part was gained through combination of designing and reverse engineering. Finally, the pixel number was transformed to corresponding dimension and standardization was made. Example shows that the method can efficiently reverse engineer the assembly CAD model, which has revolutionary feature.
