Abstract :
We have been engaged in electret research on proteins for 15 years. Based upon the experimental data, we construct a theoretical model to explain the biological function of protein in terms of electrets of information residues with submolecular electrets. We construct the conceptual model by assuming the physical nature of all the residues of amino acid sequences. The system of submolecular electrets may be given the name electreton. The plentiful data of protein information resources (PIR) may be utilized to explain the biological function of proteins such as enzymatic activity, contractile protein change of form, electricity in macroscopic observable magnitudes such as the neuron or nerve fibres, and the heart. MAGE and PREKIN computer programs use this conceptual model to demonstrate all these functions. Thermodynamics tells us the protein in the living system is taking part in the dissipative structure and recording the information as the sequence, and these sequences are further recorded under 1:3 decompression to DNA
