Abstract :
A new gamma ray detector has been developed for remote sensing of nuclear radiation leakage from nuclear facilities. The detector can measure the incoming direction of gamma rays as well as usual radiation dose rate. It composes of three kinds of different scintillators. Each scintillator gives a different output at each direction. Hence the relations between these outputs can express the information on the incident direction. Laboratory experiments show the possibility of practical remote sensing of the proposed detector
