Abstract
The design and implementation of a dedicated hardware controller for high-speed fuzzy control is discussed. By connection to a supervisory processor, the fuzzy controller´s knowledge base can be updated at run time, making it suitable for real-time, adaptive control applications. The main part of a two inputs, one output prototype of the fuzzy controller has been implemented on a Xilinx XC4008-6 FPGA. With a parallel, pipelined architecture, the system can produce over 9 million control actions per second
