Abstract :
In the paper, the characteristics of a 1.5MW permanent magnet generator directly driven by wind turbine with low speed, large poles and big volume are analyzed based on circuit-field coupled finite element method. Under the same volume, performance of six-phase, twelve-phase permanent magnet generator is compared and analyzed, and the asymmetrical operation of multi-phase permanent magnet generator directly driven by wind turbine with redunancy structure is studied. The results show that the higher performance and reliability of multi-phase permanent magnet generator directly driven by wind turbine are showed.
