Abstract
Scalability is one of the most challenging problems in the current routing system. Locator/Identifier Split idea is considered as a promising way to solve the scalability issue. However, how to design a scalable and secure mapping service system in the Locator/Identifier separation context is still an unresolved problem. In this paper, we present a scalable and secure Identifier-to-Locator mapping service system (SILMS) to tackle the above problem. There are three main contributions of our system. First, we propose a management plane above the control and data planes to enhance the mapping service. Second, we adapt the Bloom Filter in the data plane to improve the lookup efficiency and security. Third, we redesign the border routers for the Identifier-to-Locator mapping.
