  • Abstract
This paper describes a path planning algorithm using re-enforced as well as predefined maps to direct an autonomous guided vehicle. The algorithm is capable of generating alternative paths if a candidate path is blocked or has been blocked repeatedly in previous experience. A hybrid sensor system is used to provide local information about the surrounding environment and the existence of any obstacle. The system developed is applicable to a range of environments such as offices and warehouses
