Abstract :
Innovation has long been studied with various arguments about why it should be studied. This discussion of innovation has led to an appreciation of differences between incremental innovation and breakthrough or radical innovation. In this paper, the authors contend that the processes for successfully managing breakthrough and incremental innovation are different and, further, that managing incremental innovation might be detrimental to the management of breakthrough innovation
