Abstract
The performance guarantee provided by robust control is a mathematical fiction, existing only subject to unverifiable assumptions about model error bounds. Realistically, the best that can be hoped for are control performances that are not falsified by past data. This paper gives a formal definition for a "unfalsified controller," and shows how controllers whose performance capabilities are not falsified by past data can be obtained directly from the data.
